Finally, after what seems like 6 months, but was really less than 3...Elliot is officially a home schooled kid!
We got word this week that Battleground School district finally sent the paperwork back that CVA (Columbia virtual Academy) was waiting for. I could go on a 20 minute rant about the school district and the mental midgets them seem hire district wide, but we've had just as much good as bad (Elliot's preschool teacher was amazing!).
We are now waiting for all of our materials to arrive, but for now will be using some worksheets we've found online as well as some websites our new "teacher" has given us.
Someday I hope the stigmas about home schooling will change, heck I believed some of them until recently myself. Having seen first hand the farms that our schools have become, I think more parents should be looking at the advantages that home schooling provides. We are in a unique position however with Crystal not having to have a job for us to survive, and I know alot of families aren't that lucky. She works harder than me for sure, I'll never change my thoughts on that!
