Update on Us

It's hot! Today was another day in the upper 90's maybe 100. I haven't watched the news to see the official high but I know it was pretty damn hot. Friday was 105 or some ungodly high temperature like that so Peanut and I went to my parents for the day to hang out in their air conditioned house. We got home about 7:30 and it was still 95 outside. Inside our house wasn't much better, maybe around 90. Gave Peanut a bath and put him in bed, then I was off to work. got home at 4:30 in the morning and it was still 82. House never did cool off and poor Peanut was awake at 5:30, hot and sweaty and could not get back to sleep. So Mike took him so I could sleep but at 7, I needed to feed Peanut. After about an hour napping in bed, we were both awake again, still hot and sweaty. Mike *had* to stay home from work. There was no way we could of made it without him. I finally got some sleep about 10 until 12:30, and then Peanut got a couple hour nap while we got ready for another day at my parents. Before we went there, had to make a Walmart stop for diapers and some snacks and we were going to the checkout counter and see a pallet of a/c's they were just unloading. Like vultures to roadkill, we were drawn. After seeing the tag of $86, and demanding Mike to go get a cart for one, one of the employees plopped on on the bottom 1/2 of our cart and we were off. I think I might of killed someone to get one of those, that's how badly I wanted one again.

My parents are the best. We had a great afternoon with them lounging around in the house. Both of them just love being with Peanut so I hand him off to whoever is frothing at the mouth the moment we walk in the door and I'm not really needed until he's ready to eat again.

My niece Taylor spent the weekend out at mom and dads and here's Elliot and Tay swimming in the hot tub. She was so excited to hold and help him in there.

And when I couldn't stand over the side of the tub anymore and hold Elliot, Mom loaned me a swimsuit and I got in with him. The water was 92 or so and was perfect. Ignore the greasy, oily looking face. Did I say it was hot out? Still was around 93 or so.

And one more photo for today. Elliot's the cheerleader for
Mike's softball team. Here he is last week all decked out looking oh so adorable. The hat never stays on very long. It's still a little too big and falls into his eyes.

And for the grand great news of the day......I'm now UNEMPLOYED!!!!!! Woo hoo! Last night was my last night of work and I cannot be more excited. No more abuse from irrate, irresponsible parents who think the police are there to parent their children, no more having to be nice to the stupid, uneducated, drunk or crazy public. No more having my heart ache for an elderly person who's spouse passed away in the night and they just woke up to find them. No more parents saying their baby can't breath, or worse. No more unfair accidents where I listen to the people crying in the background. No more children calling saying their parents are fighting or worse, hurting or have hurt them. No more working nights, weekends, and every holiday in the calendar. And no more having to leave my sleeping baby in his father's very capable hands so I can go to work, only to be too tired the next day to truly interact with him the way I think he deserves to have his mom interact with him.

This is about all I can handle at my computer for now. Did I mention it's hot?! :o)

TTFN and stay cool ~Crystal
